Download Mozilla Firefox

I urge you all to switch from Internet Explorer to Mozilla Firefox. It has far more features, is a lot safer and is customizable. Not only does it have features that put it far above Internet Explorer, but it allows you to install additional Extensions to enhance the program.

Pop-up blocking
Automatically blocks annoying pop-ups, but shows those you want to see.

Tabbed browsing
Allows you to open multiple sites in one window and flick easily between them.

Quick Searches
Lets you search websites straight from the address bar by using predefined keywords. Look up words on Dictionary.com, search Google or find items on eBay just by typing in the address bar.

Even if you don't care about extra features, Firefox is a much safer browser. A lot of the problems people post about in this forum would be avoided if they used Firefox.

No, I do it out of general concern for my fellow man.

Can you show me a page that has Georgian fonts on it? Just so I can see if it works for me when I try to install Georgian fonts.

or cant u just middle click a link, or press ctrl-t
You can use Ctrl+T, but TabBrowser Preferences lets you automatically open new tabs for certain types of link (links from other programs, for example). You can also drag a URL onto the 'New Tab' button (if you've added one to the toolbar).

I didn't think Middle Clicking links worked without TabBrowser Preferences. Didn't for a friend of mine, anyway. Plus some poor unfortunate folk don't have mice with third buttons or scroll wheels.

Some other tips:

If you type about:config into the URL bar, it will display a number of configuration options.

browser.throbber.url specifies what site loads up when you click the 'throbber' (the little circly thing in the top right)

keyword.url specifies what page Firefox loads when you type a non-URL into the address bar. By default it's set to Google's "I'm Feeling Lucky" search, meaning if you type "Tupac" in the address bar, it will search Google for Tupac and load the first site it finds. You can change this to search Google normally by changing the value from
Code:
http://www.google.com/search?btnI=I%27m+Feeling+Lucky&q=
to
Code:
http://www.google.com/search?btnG=Google+Search&q=
This means you can search Google simply by typing a word into the URL bar. You could alternatively set it to any of the following:

MSN Search:
Code:
http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=
Ask Jeeves:
Code:
http://web.ask.com/web?q=
AltaVista:
Code:
http://www.altavista.com/web/results?itag=wrx&q=
Amazon:
Code:

Yes... it is.

I didn't say I use it, just that it's better, and firefox blows.

I don't like Windows, but I HAVE to use it. I HATE Firefox, but I HAVE use it. IE is just too flawed.
