i take it you watched the hall of fame. yeah that was a great speech, and how he broke down at the beginning. i like his shot he took at krause, and how he brought the guy that made the HS basketball team instead of him to the HOF.
i didn't see the speech, but i read a recap and it sounded like he was being the ungrateful, conceited punk i always thought he was. not taking away from his talent, but i've always thought he was a jerk and i've never liked him.
There was one poll on ESPN.com that I didn't agree with. A majority of people voted that 'winning 5 MVP awards' was a greater achievement than 'winning 6 NBA finals MVP awards'. This is how I look at it:
Any player that plays well and deserves it can win an MVP award (Did you say Steve Nash? I thought I heard you say Karl Malone). You can win the MVP award five times and haters will still say you aren't as great as Jordan was.
On the other hand not everyone that plays well and, deserves to be in the NBA finals gets to the NBA Finals. Getting to the NBA finals is harder than winning an MVP award in my opinion.
Winning the NBA finals MVP award means you have to work your a$$ off to win that damn award. I think you also have to be on the winning team to be considered for the award? Someone tell me the exceptions to this rule.
To get to the NBA finals 6 times and win the NBA finals MVP award 6 times? That's just insane to me. Its inhuman to achieve that. Lets be logical, lets just think of the road to collecting this award. Its not easy!!
