How do you feel that the media is treating the war on terror? is it biased? is it propaganda? what are your thoughts on how news, television and magizines handle the coverage?

of course its bias...they wont show any of the innocent people killed in iraq...unlike al jazera (sp?) shows...

I mean rumsfeld is so full of shit...he went as far as to say that the dead children that were shown killed by the U.S 'smart bombs' were special effects...and nobody really got hurt...i mean if thats no bias, what is?

but its what the neo-conservatives want ...a constant invisible enemy...just like the communists in the cold war.

It depends where you get your news from. That said I wouldn't belive any thing Bush or this administation says. You can't blame the media when the media is being lied to by you know who.

all i can say is that is here in the US, all they say is the number of US troops dead, nothing about Iraqis or anyone else. it's biased and disgusting

the media now is totally different from the media in the 70s. There use to be reporters in the thick of battle in Vietnam, where we saw the dead and injured on camera. Now we see reporters with patrol units and the only time we see injured soldiers is when they're giving the thumbs up, not the middle finger.

Read a lot of books. Take courses in school if you can. Read the paper (some papers...), but if the majority of your political knowledge comes from television, then you're screwed.

I don't even know that it's so much an issue of the government and corporations controlling the media, but just news programs trying to gain the broadest audience. Which means a lot of bullshit, and not much in depth coverage of the "boring" but important issues.
