Can the man who doesn't tip-toe around controversy in the NBA dance his way around the stage in front of a national television audience?

Billionaire entrepreneur and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is likely to compete in the next season of Dancing with the Stars according to E! Online.

Television's Dr. Quinn, 56-year-old Jane Seymour, reportedly already has signed on to compete on the ABC reality series, and Cuban's decision is expected to be known by Wednesday morning.

Cuban, 49, is ranked No. 407 on Forbes' list of the world's richest people with a personal fortune valued at $2.3 billion. E! Online said Cuban worked as a disco dance instructor when he was in college.

Cuban has a history of dust-ups as owner of the Mavericks, drawing repeated fines for his criticism of officiating and National Basketball Association policies. More recently, he has feuded with Donald Trump after the real-estate developer ridiculed Cuban for the Mavericks' inability to win a championship. Cuban shot back that Trump was jealous "because he can't afford to buy an NBA team."

Another Dallas icon, former Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith, was the Dancing with the Stars winner last season. The roster of this season's dance competitors will be announced Wednesday on ABC.
