Anyways, I always go to the gym and i'm fairly active. I had to switch to a different kind of BC due to medical reasons. They've made me gain weight while still eating the same amount of food and doing the same 3-day workout.

So, here's the thing. I've lessened my calorie intake a bit and I lost 2 lbs in the past month.

I'm 138 and I want to get down to 125 which is a less than what I was at originally, but still a healthy weight so that if I gain a bit again from the BC, it's not as bad as it was now.

Anyways... some advice pls? What can I do differently? I'm usually at the gym every other day. I take a cycling class Mondays, Wed is a free day where I do about an hour or so of cardio and then a few of the light weight training machines. Then on Fridays I take a sculpting (aerobics) class.

Help. Thnks.

Do cardio every day for an hour a day to burn more calories and quicken your metabolism. Keep your diet, just do more cardio. Losing 8 pounds a month is the healthiest way to lose weight, more than that means you're burning more than fat.

If you go to the gym every other day, that should be enough. I dunno about your diet but if you say you watch your calories, I guess your doin' fine. So what should you change to lose weight quicker? There are only two ways - eat less or burn more! Like I said, every other day sounds like you spend enough time in the gym, so I guess you just should work out harder! Try to use the time more intensive and you'll burn more calories. Why do u only use a "few of the light weight training machines"? Use a lil more weight, just work out harder and you'll be fine. I always wonder why women are "threaded" different in the gym, they usually are told to do more reps and stuff, don't get told to add weight over time..... while the same principles that apply for men would apply to women.

Go to your limits a lil more and you won't have 2 spent more time there and still gonna burn more calories, simple as that.

Yeah I do a lot of cardio, seems my body maybe adjusted to it? I'm only consuming about 1300 cals per day. Eating a lot of "cheat" food like salads with no meat/cheese, etc. Not sure what to do. Maybe some of the weight machines but i'm fearful of "bulking up" as opposed to toning.

could depend on ur body's matabolism to burn the calories etc.

if you use resistance training (weights) you wont burn ur fat, ud instead work the muscles. fat cannot be turned into muscle. its impossible. so u need to do longer light workourts to burn off the fat.

if you work the muscles, ud only increase the size of muscle mass, therefore adding on weight.

as long as your having a balanced diet, with the ight amount of carbs, proteins, fats etc.. watch ur sigar levels too, they turn into calories which get stored as fat if u dont burn them up.

have a look at www.fitday.com

you can manage your foods eaten, activities participated in, goals set and achieved etc...

it also presents all the data in graphs and charts to show you what u need more or less of and the amount of calories consumed vs. the amount of calories burned; which shows if you have extra calories (putting on weight) or burned more calories than taken in (losing the weight).

You'll need more calories or you're body is gonna think you're starving and start storing every calory it gets. I don't know how much you weigh but 1300 cals/day is not gonna make you lose weight as fast as you would if you consumed more calories. Keep your protein intake at about 40% of you cal intake as protein stimulates your metabolism, get a lot of healthy fats in your diet and keep the carb intake at about 25-30%. When you hit the gym, do heavy lifting for 30 minutes (keeps your metabolism high throughout the day) and cardio for 30 minutes. Good luck

WRONG

Sorry but this isn't good advice at all. Working the muscles will keep yor metabolism high throughout the day. If you wanna lose fat and don't lift heavy weights you're not gonna see results anywhere near as fast.

First thing Syn...don't pay attention to the scale and don't have a "goal weight". Scales are stupid and useless.

Anyway I would say at least 3x a week do cardio for 30mins. Like, one day really intense cardio, one day off, one day moderate, off etc.

And then 3x a week 30 mins of weights. I would do like 2 sets of 12 reps.

Whenever I stop going to the gym for a long time this is what I start with.

Weights are good, obviously being a woman there is a certain limit you wanna go but if you add weights to your cardio it burns calories faster and sculpts/tones your body at the same time. Not great to do everyday but adding that in will help.
