I don't remember if we talked about this already on here, but I thought I'd post it anyway since I remember you talking about the XPERIA before.

Sony Ericsson are releasing a new XPERIA phone that will run Android. And it is looking good!

Apparently, this bad boy will have:

* Qualcomm’s 1GHz Snapdragon processor
* 8 megapixel camera with auto-focus
* 3.5mm audio jack
* 7.2Mbps HSDPA
* 3D graphics capabilities

If this has a nice amount of RAM and internal storage (at least 8GB which is what the Samsung Galaxy running Android has), then spec-wise it will shit on everything!

What's even cooler is that SE have developed their own UI for Android, like what HTC did for the Hero with their Sense UI. Check out the vid.

I'm hoping for the same phone spec-wise but with a physical keyboard too. It really looks great, although if HTC come out with something similar I'll probably stay with them due to the ingenuity and dedication of the HTC hacking community.

Well, the XPERIA X1 was never released through a carrier in the US, but it was released directly from Sony Ericsson for $800 SIM-unlocked and with no contract.

I would expect this new one to be released in the States though, especially considering the effort SE have put into creating their own flavor UI for Android.

The other XPERIA phones have only run stock WinMo which makes them epic fail.

The only way in which HTC sucks is the cameras, but this one might be ok! (still no flash tho? :()
The camera on my G1 is pretty win. I use the app Snap Photo Pro which uses the accelerometer to take the picture at the most stable moment so you always get a clear shot. Then you can edit the levels and contrast before you even save it, if there's bad lighting etc.
