Many variations, but one race!

OK, i had to make this thread... not only have i been reasearchin about this shit... but ive also seen alot of racist shit over the last few days on the boards and via PM... so this is what i want to discuss...

How can anyone be racist?

I mean, in theory us as humans are just one race...

Blacks, whites, asians are not seperate races... they are simply 'variations of the human being'...

so why are people so racist? is it because once you had a falling out with someone of a different skin colour and now you hate everyone who shares that skin colour?

or is it that you have experienced an assault from another human who has a different skin colour?

or perhaps it was just the way you were raised, to hate other's of a different skin colour?

Let me just quote the bible - ‘made of one blood all nations of men’

This is for the ignorant motherfuckaz -

lets talk about melanin. Melanin is a brownish pigment that is produced in different amounts in the skins cells... this determines whether we are dark skinned or light skinned or if you have none; albino.

However, what im trying to point out here is... we are all the same, we are human... some people have darker Melanin in there cells, some have lighter... this determines you skin colour... why are caucasian eyes so different to that of the chinese? simple, its the amount of fat that is surrounding the eyes... its only due to the fat layer that we have different shaped eyes...

so really, if you are racist... and hate on someone because of there skin colour? why... why not take another characteristic... why not take the colour of there eyes and then hate on everyone with the same colour eyes, height, weight or perhaps gender?

this shit got me thinking... and regardless of how much you hate a person dont hate on them for what they look like, there skin colour etc... if you must hate on them, it must be because you disagree with there opinions/actions or perhaps personality...

just had to clear that with myself for the most of it... feel free to discuss... and dont take this thread as an oppurtunity to throw 'racial' slurs around at each other... this isnt what it is for, it's here to make you realise and stop that sort of ignorant behaviour...

and i know i have throw my fair share of 'slurs' around before, but since ive had to chance to educate myself a little... i'd like to apologise for me wrong doings... that's all

yea i hear ya, i've came to the same conclusion a few years back. i hate it when people use the word race to set them self apart from a person of a different nationality. like for instance, when people make threads like "what race are you?" or stupid shit like that. "what name wouldnt go good with a certain race". its stupid imo. i've been saying human beings are all one race for a while and until the rest of the world understands that, we are just going to keep killing each other.

that's right PuffnScruff... and it's really the only logical way of defeating racism is making people realise we are all just one race, but many varations... we are just human beings regardless of how dark the Melanin we have in our cells...

its like, when someone asks 'what race are you?' they are just asking ... 'How dark is the Melanin in your skin?'... seems a pointless question to me...

the word "race" has many meanings these days

technically, yes there is only one race (the human race)

but race is also used to describe people with different ethnicities

i mean think about it, its alot easier to say "hes racist" than "hes ethnicitist"

it was only like 300 years ago that discriminating against a persons skin colour was pretty much unknown... and that's because people only saw each other as the human race and not as individual races like - black, white or asian...

if we can get that back, only see each other as human regardless of you skin colour... then that would eliminate racism... although... i think for the best part of it, it would have to be taught to the youngsters to see each other as just the 'human race'... mainly because we all have it drummed in our head's and we actually notice, i kno im sure not racist... and i know that i see everyone as just one race - the human race...

i think its the only way to properly be on the right track to defeat discrimination against skin colour or ethnicity.

300 years ago the american pioneers were fucking over the entire indian race, they obviously didnt see indians as equals or else they wouldn't have taken over their land

Racism isn't unreasonable in some cases.
Please inform us in what cases you beleive it is 'suitable' to be 'racist', or as i would like to say... discriminate to another human being because of there skin pigment?

I agree - we were all black once - some stayed black, some turned white, red whatever - but I agree, if you think about it, there is really no logical reason for racim. We all have the same root.

I said "reasonable", not "suitable". But, I'm going to stop there because you said, "skin pigment". There is more to racism than when blacks were enslaved.

i think racism also includes hate for another culture. now this is just a halfass theory, but logically there is no reason to hate one based on skin color alone. especially, since every race has a slightly darker or slightly lighter version of skin color. cause like yall say we all come from one race. so my guess is that culture plays apart of it as well.

when the europeans came over to the new world and saw indians with a different way of life, they proceeded to conquer their land based on just that. their different way of life. if the indian's were of the same beliefs, do you think they'd have gotten such a raw deal in the end?

so basically, my guess is that racism includes one's skin color and culture. with skin color being the most common way to identify a person of another culture. this what i think it all started from maybe

I agree with y'all. It is beyond me how someone can hate another person simply because of the color of their skin. I wasn't raised to judge people by their skin color and I'm raising my kids to be the same way. I'm teaching them that you don't dislike anyone because they look different, whether that be a different skin color or physical handicap or anything else of that nature. I'm instilling in them the fact that everyone is human and should be treated as such no matter what they look like. Noone is better than anyone else, white, black or otherwise.
I was looking at some things on the net and I came across this website. I found it interesting.

I myself think the terms for races are corrupt.

We are all family.

People viewed each other as one race about 74,000 to 200,000 years ago. it wasn't until the super volcano in Indonesia blew up, which caused a nuclear winter. This led tribes in Africa to begin migrating north, to Asia, to Europe, and even to the Americas and Australia. Less air intake in the north throughout the milleniums reduced the size of noses. Less sunlight intake in the north lightened the color of skin. More intense sunlight in southeast Asia led to smaller eyelids from squinting.
