Larry Lucchino's implied thought process:
"Hm..What should I do about Manny? He's an RBI machine, he'll hit 600 home runs before he's done, he always hits around or over .300, he's the best clutch hitter in the game, he's right hand protection for the lefty David Ortiz, and everyone on the team loves him. Hm, I know! I'll trade him to our number one competition in the American League! The White Sox would love to have him. I'm sure the fans would love to see me trade a Hall of Famer for an off-injured half-decent OF."
You guys have the baseball IQ of a chicken wing. Manny does this every year where he gets stressed out and thinks that getting out of die-hard baseball country might help. Then he takes a day or two off, and gets back to business. The only difference this year was that it was more public. The Red Sox listen to any trade proposal for anybody, because they're always looking to improve the team. No one has ever been untouchable in Boston. The only way they will make a trade is if it will better the team. No one on Chicago is better than Manny. It will never happen.
