I reckon Ivory Coast will surprise some people, they've got Toure from Arsenal at the back, the Kalou brothers who are decent in midfield and Drogba of Chelsea up front, don't be surprised if they do a Senegal and get through the group stage, one African team always surprises. Lots of strength as you'd expect allied with good technique.

True. African teams always have had potential.

My list of serious contestants:

Brazil (duh)
Argentina (looking strong)
Italy (their usual Roman solid self)
England (looking strong too)
Portugal (crafty team)
Holland (the mentality and quality is there)



Spain doesn't look too solid at the moment. France has been struggling as well and the Germans havent convinced me either yet.

Great thing about these major tournaments is anything can happen, any team listed could win it, but deep down we all know England are going to win :)

On 9 December 2005, the Final Draw for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany will take place at the Messe in Leipzig, Germany. The draw will begin at 20:15 (Local Time) and will be covered live on FIFAworldcup.com
