Technology Limewire question

Any of you guys use this? My boy just told me about it, but he also said it's full of virus' and stuff like that.. Is he right? Are they any other things similar things like limewire, or is that the best 1?

great for downloading music.. i use it all the time.. not 2 sure bout video files or anything but downloaded thousands of songs from it no problem touchwood

Its only good for songs.

Ares does the same, but awsome for everything.

There's also Shareaza.

They all have their fair share of viruses, just use common sense. Stick to downloading mp3/mpg/mpeg/avi files (avoid WMV files), don't download really small files (if it's less than 1mb, leave it).

I use that shit all the time for music and for my viewing pleasure. It has yet to give me any problems. Also Limewire veryfies everysong or item that you download onto ur computer. I dont know how accurate it is but once a song has completely been download, limewire runs a virus check, if the file is corrupt, limewire will inform you and you can delete the item before it is perm. saved to ur comp.

i only use limewire for music. great tool for downloading music. but hey there is viruses everywhere nowadays. just watch out.

well, just skip the crap....use torrents....torrents, you get the entire cd bundled up together, in one file....really, the only argument for limewire, ares, etc, is that you can dl just indiv. songs, which you cant do with torrents...but then you go to sites like rapgodfathers.com and you get the new singles there....but torrents, you have everything limewire doesnt...you got episodes of shows, movies, porn, if you're into it, books...so really, you're much better off with torrents...

I like Limwire better than Ares because it gives you better results when you are searching for songs. I've had it for a while and it's workin great.

I just bought my first pc about 2 weeks ago.. The only sites I use it to go to are like 3 sites.. This, pokers stars, and then I read the news and shit.. Oh yea, and I got that aim thing, but i got like 2 buddies cuz none of my friends got computers so i hardly use that :-/

Limewire is greta aslong as you have the latest update on your spyware and virus portection... it goes pretty fast too and sometimes u can get good quality movies

thats just one site where you can dl torrent files..of course, you need something to open those files with so google bittorrent or something...

^^ torrents are great but some of them have horrible speeds
they are way better for movies than all of the other programs even though may find some good stuff on limewire
