Keep an eye on WWE castoffs

After Wrestlemania, several WWE performers fell victim to roster cuts, including the Dudleys, Joy Giovanni, Kenzo Suzuki, Matt Morgan, Charlie Haas, Maven, Jackie Gayda, Marty Jannetty, Dawn Marie, Mark Jindrak, Shannon Moore, Akio, Gangrel, Billy Kidman, Spike Dudley and Mordecai. To some, the most surprising news was that none of these stars resurfaced in TNA or any other promotion. But that was because they were all bound to no-compete clauses -- until now.
As of Friday morning, all those laid off are now free to work with any promotion in the world, and that could make for a tricky situation for WWE as TNA prepares to make its debut on Spike TV.
One other superstar TNA should keep a very close eye on is the just-released Chris Jericho. Eric Bishoff "fired'' Y2J on Monday on "Raw'' for the sake of the TV audience, but in reality Jericho had told WWE many months ago that he was gone right after SummerSlam. Jericho wants to take time off from wrestling to concentrate on his band, Fozzy, and some other personal interests.
