Just The Start For Angle - Cena

Just the start for Angle-Cena

September 18, 2005

BY BLACKJACK BROWN

Tonight at the ''Unforgiven'' pay-per-view, Kurt Angle will challenge John Cena for the WWE title in what should be the first of many encounters between these two.

WWE has done a nice job of getting Angle over as an out-of-control wrestling machine of late, and I just don't see any way to justify Cena leaving ''Unforgiven'' with the title. A new champ makes sense as WWE transitions to USA Network on Oct. 1, and it will set up a rematch at Taboo Tuesday on Nov. 1.

I think WWE has taken Cena as far as he can go as champ for now, and it's time for a change. Cena will wear the gold numerous times before it's over, so there's no need to overdo it this time around.

Other matches on the ''Unforgiven'' card: Ric Flair vs. Carlito for the Intercontinental title, Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Masters, Edge vs. Matt Hardy in a steel cage and Big Show vs. Snitsky. Also, Rosey and the Hurricane will defend the tag-team titles against Cade and Murdoch, and Diva search winner Ashley will team with Trish Stratus to face Victoria and Torrie Wilson.

Well Cena has the belt and will have it until Tripple H returns. Pinochio is coming back on October the start of a new network USA.

Exactly, Triple HHH Has Probably Got It Set Up To Win The Belt, As Soon As He Gets Back. That Will Push Angle Back Into A Feud Maybe With Edge. THEN When HHH Wins The Belt, HHH v Angle Feud Will Get Started.

Ya May See HHH/Angle Tag Team For A While Against Cena/Micheals

Angle/Edge? Can't see either of those turning face any time soon. I think they'll keep Angle/Cena going for a while, maybe do the obvious HHH/Flair feud and then move on to HHH/Cena. That said, they've been mentioning the "Money in the Bank" thing a lot recently, so the build up for Edge vs. Cena might start soon. Edge has, what, six months to use his shot? I don't think they'll squander the Money in the Bank stip by giving him a title shot on an unimportant PPV, job him to Cena and then have him go on to another feud. They need to give it some buildup, otherwise the whole thing will have been pointless. The cage match could have been the blowoff to Edge/Hardy - Hardy won, he Twist of Fated Lita - so many he'll be moved on to a program with someone else which he'll come out of looking strong and go on to face Cena. Edge vs. Shelton, maybe?
