If I have a folder added to its library and add a song or additional album to the folder, how do I get iTunes to add it to its library automatically?

If that can't be done, fuck this program.

itunes sucks like that.

I only have it because of my ipod. I am guessing the same goes for you.

I prefer Winamp over it on any day.

iTunes will not add the files automatically. The purpose of iTunes is to have all of your media in one place, so you don't have to manually mess around in pile of folders. What you need to do is go to Preferences>Advanced> and check box the "Copy files to iTunes Library folder when adding to Library". Now, iTunes will automatically copy and organize your files after importing them. They won't get lost.

Of course, if you're a trend following kinda guy who wants to have an iPhone/iPod even thought they suck - then you are out of luck. Having iTunes on Windows is silly to begin with.

It's like having some Zune shit on my Mac. Yuk.

Actually, its a matter of you going backwards. You want to move around the folders and have iTunes recognize your actions - which it doesn't.

What iTunes offers is for you to import the songs by dragging and dropping (or right click import) the folders/files into iTunes and the software will organize them for you.

When I have a folder of songs.. I drag them into my iTunes and that's it.. I don't go looking for the right folder.

oh and if WinAmp is so great, shouldn't it be able to automatically add files that are copied into the iTunes folder? That could be your solution.
