Is wireless bad for your health?

Seriously, I spent a few days reading a lot of publications and I'm stuck. At my uni when I had to learn about wireless technologies they said that it doesn't interfere with human body and produces much less radiation than mobile phones. Yeasterday they said on the news that some British teachers want to ban wifi at universities because it causes cancer and impotence - certainly many serious publications claim that it's true. Wireless phones, wifi, cell phones - some scientists claim it to be really bad for health. Appearently some Swedish schools pay a lot to prevent students from being affected by electromagnetic waves.
On the other hand there are some major research centres claiming that wireless is not bad for your health or at least is not THAT bad as they make it to be.
Do you know anyone who was diagnosed with cancer caused by mobile phones/wireless devices?
In my opinion it's an interesting subject since wireless is basically everywhere these days and some people claim that it's really dangerous (some sources claim that about 30% people exposed to it will be impotent). Other outcomes seem to be loss of memory and slaying your chromosomes.

I don't think anyone knows how these things affect us. No, really. I mean, this is not something I know a lot about, but apparently the way our memory is stored in our cells is an electromagnetic phenomenon.. So to me, that begs the question, won't an electromagnetic field somehow interfere with that process? Won't waves and signals that can be picked up and sensed by electronic devices somehow affect this also? I mean, I don't know, but that's what I'm picturing. In my experience, when scientists say "it's not dangerous", what they really mean is, "we don't fully understand it yet and nothing we say should be taken as right or wrong."

^exactly.

I don't know too much, but the reason why there is argument is b/c the simple thought of it affecting us somehow. Whereas, scientist don't know anything yet.

Interesting note I did myself:

when i took off my wireless internet at night, i started to feel more rested then when i didn't.

However, that can probably be just coincidence or whatever.

Yes, there are people who can "feel" if wireless is on and it's proven. Some people can't focus and work at offices with many wireless devices.

The point is that scientists can't prove that it's bad for health because they probably have no way to research it properly. Basically in this case when they claim that something has "no effect on our body" is because nobody proved that it has. So scientists who claim that it seriously affects us negatively base their claims on theory. The point is that they might be right but in this case business interferes with science and health and it's better for big companies that they don't prove their theories untill a new, better, "healthier" technology is introduced. It might sound stupid but I think we had a similar situation with crt monitors when lcd displays were introduced. Suddenly old monitors were super-unhealthy and so called radiation-blocking filters were proven to be useless.

I think if you use your cellphones occasionnaly, you should be fine. If you're one of those walking cockheads that uses it 24/7. There is more of a risk.

Cmon people, think of it in this way. Electromagnetic waves smacking your head constantly. Even just talking about it shows that it might not be all that healthy. lol

EMFs are actually good for you. They make you stronger and fight cancer. We should expose ourselves to at least 20 minutes of high-intensity electromagnetic radiation per day. Tape a cell phone to your head and your genitals.

EMFs are probably not as dangerous as other things we’re exposed to in our daily life, like chemicals, but they do have an effect on us, and we should limit our exposure to it as much as possible. There’s no long-term human studies done, but there are studies on animals and on living tissue. Iron in the body and cell membranes seem to be the most affected.

Different things pose different levels of risk. Power lines are probably the most serious, but cell phone exposure and cordless phones are probably a health crisis waiting to blow up when the brain tumor statistics start coming in.

in 50 years they'll be able to tell if wireless has side effects on human beings. before that, don't believe anything you hear.
