Technology is there any way to unprotect protected .wma files

#1
at my school, we are offered use of the napster client for downloading music. we can download as much music as we want for free, except the problem is that the song's license says that it can only be played on this computer, and that the file may not be burned or synchronized.

i opened the file using notepad and tried to read the coding and perhaps locate where the license is and change it, but that didn't work.

is there any other way to change/remove the license? i cannot burn these songs to cd nor can i convert using itunes.

there used to be apps that worked called unfuck and freeme, but they dont work anymore on the new protection scheme.there is a way though to re encode these songs in an unprotected format.it will take alot of time though.

all you need is an audio recording program, like adobe audition.go to adobe.com and get a 30 day trial of adobe audition.

now go to control panel > sound and audio devices .hit the advanced button in the middle of the window.your windows mixer will pop up.go to options > properties.hit the recording button and check everything under, then hit ok.

now theres a slider which is supposed to be called stereo mix.it has a different name on each computer,so if you dont see stereo mix,let me know what names you see on there and ill tell you which one it is.

now put a check beside "select" for stereo mix, move the slider a quarter of a way up.

open up adobe audition.go to file > new,so you have a new audio page.hit the record button, and everything that is played on your computer will get recorded.now when the recording starts, play one of your songs in your music player like wmp or winamp, when its done playing, hit stop in audition so it stops recording, then save the file as an mp3.

you have to do this for each song though,so it might take alot of time if you have many songs.this is the only work around that i can think of.
