Now, I'm a skinny guy. I'm about 5'8'' and weigh 140lb. Now, I eat a lot, but my fast metabolism or whatever prevents me from gaining any weight. So, is there any legitimate weight gainers that I could use, to help me gain weight? I don't want something that's unhealthy, but I want something that works. Thanks.

You don't need no weight gainers. See I'm a skinny guy too and it's a bitch for us to put on weight but still you can do it. A plus is that we barley put on fat so every lb you'll weight more it's going to be actually muscles - and you don't have 2 worry about definition.

So anyway, start with workin out and think about protain shakes or whatever later on, if needed, get used to lifting weights first.

there is many ways to work out, but method that got results for me was doing a full body workout every other day, so thats biceps, triceps, chest etc... and doing legs aswell
find a weight your comfortable with but not to light and do 12 reps for each set and do 2-3 sets of each exercise.
doing a cardio exercise twice a week for 30-45 mins aswell is good.

a protien supplement such as ProMaxx will help you build lean muscle and help your muscles to recover after a workout.

Well, I don't want to get like real big, I just want to have good definition, without looking skinny, lol.
^meaning you have to put on muscle.Yes some people have a problem with putting on weight because of their metabolism. And to put on muscle you have to eat alot.Food is inefficient if you want to do it in a healthy way.I don't think you want to eat 20 pounds of chicken a day.

What you need is weight gainer shakes. It's a high calorie shake, but it's healthy. It contains the right proteins, carbs, vitamins, amino acids to get you going.Go to a health food store and pickup one of these.

Weight training won't do you anything if you don't eat enough. As a matter a fact, weight training and not eating enough will put your body in muscle wasting mode. What this means is,when you finish working out, instead of your body repairing your muscles,it will just break them down because it lacks the neccessary nutrition to carry out protein synthesis.

Since you have a fast metabolism, you need to eat 18 x your bodyweight(lbs) in calories if you want to pack on some lean muscle mass.So 18 x 140 = roughly 2500 calories. It is essential you get at least this many calories.

I wouldn't worry about getting real big lol,you can stop the muscle gaining process whenever you think you have enough, then go on to maintain.

That's the kind of advice I needed. Any particular ones that work well?

That's per day, right?

look for prolab N large II,or optimum serious mass. Those are some of the best ones. If these are too expensive for you, look at the label, see what they contain, and compare to the generic brands, since they are much cheaper.

Whatever you do,don't fuckin go to GNC.

True BUT those weight gainers won't help if you don't work out the right way, you gotta keep that in mind. So, if you don'T plan to go to the gym, weight gainers are a waste of money.

Plus, I feel like "I got a mega super fast metabolsim" is the excuse of the year.

Ok, you'r skinny - but did you work out before? Maybe you're skinny cause you don't do any sport and only eat junk foot once a day cause you're too high all day long 2 cook something healthy for yourself?

OK, you're skinny - maybe you're metabolism is fast but did you work out without those weight gainers before? If not, how could you even say that u need them to put on muscles?

Ok you're skinny - but how much do you really eat? Everybody comes in here and says "I eat so much already" - did you ever count your calories? I bet that half of you dudes eat only 50% of the colories I do. If you only eat like 2000 cal a day, how can you blame it on your "fast metabolsim" that you don't gain weight?

I said I will go to the gym.

Yes, I worked out over the summer for a solid month. I play basketball, not as much lately, I don't eat much junk food, and rarely do drugs. My mom cooks my food.

Yes. I was able to have definition, but the definition that a skinny person would have, lol.

The way I came up is, I eat enough to satisfy my hunger. I don't eat to the point where I have to throw up. I don't count calories, no.

Iv'e been on both sides, first i was fatter than shit and no matter what i couldent drop the weight untill i started riding bmx all over the city, then the weight melted off in no time, now i got the same problem as you, im a skinny guy, 6'2 ,165 - 170 pounds and i have a hard time putting on weight, i put on muscle real easy but keeping it is the problem, i can work out one or two times and see a noticable differance but if i slack it dissapears in no time.

ok if you plan to go to the gym, why don't u start to work out first and see where it gets you before you wonder about weight gainers?

Yes, I worked out over the summer for a solid month. I play basketball
So you played ball and that is what you call working out? I mean don't get me wrong I love basketball - but it won't help you 2 put on a lot of weight plus to make a huge progress you'll need more time then a month anyway.

Ok, now let's share some hope. I said I'm a skinny dude too - my genes actually aren't the best to put on weight but you can do it man. At the age of 19 I did weight 160 lbs, now I'm 22, I had my ups and downs, quite weightlifting for a couple of months - but anyway right now I'm just slightly under 200. I have 2 add that I'm a basketball player so lifting weights is just what I do 2 be in shape, Basketball is number 1 - and still I was able 2 put on 40lbs of muscles. The key to it all is just to work hard, there're no miricales or surpises when it comes 2 your shape, it simply comes down 2 your disciplin.

Exactly. And the reason I recommended the weight gainer shakes is because i know for a fact he is not getting in enough calories(or else he wouldnt have trouble getting bigger),and I don't think he is starving himself,so the shakes are the way to go.

Everybody has to learn how to count calories,it makes it so much easier. And yes alot of people dont even get enough calories in,but it's because they have a limited appetite. When they workout with weights, the appetite will increase no doubt. So you are right,he should try working out before using weight gainers, and count his calories, and if he still can't eat enough, then his last resort would have to be weight gainers.

I didn't read all this but from a quick look I had there is nothing too special on this side, how could it be? Skinny guys have 2 work out the same way everyone else has 2 work out. Like I said before, there are no miracels if it comes 2 weightlifting.

Still seems 2 be a decent side.

peace
