i can't pick between getting the ps3 or the xbox360. the price went down on the ps3 and since i don't have any ps2 or ps1 games i dont care about not being able to play them on the model that goes for $399. i like that it has blu-ray built in along with wifi and free online gaming. were as with xbox i have to pay to play online, pay to get the wifi, and pay for the hd-dvd player. i also don't like that 360 has been having problems and people have had to returns theirs to get fixed. an ass load of people have had to send theirs back in to get repaired.

if anyone can drop some pros and cons about either and help me decide i would appreciate it. :thumb::D

Depends on the person really. PS3 has nothing but delays. Every single game, updates, and demos get delayed. PS3 online is free but will you have anyone to play with? Is anyone even on there? The new 360s have the falcon chip and extra heat sink because of the problems with the old versions. The graphics are the same on both systems. Blu-ray and HD-DVD don't matter to me cause I won't pay $25-40 dollars for a movie or $100 for a TV Series. Fuck that. Flip a coin.

there's already a big ass ps3 better than 360 thread.

If you're all about fps games go for 360. If you like other genres go for ps3. ps3 is technically better and has more exclusives announced but to be honest it's all about what kind of games do you prefer and do you need all those things that ps3 gives you like blu-ray player, better graphics etc.

Ps3 exclusives:

xbox 360 exclusives:

Right now I'd rather go for PS3 mainly because I prefer Japanese games and it's bigger possibilities.

There are clear differences between the two graphics. It's just hard to tell which is "better". If you're going by playing ported 360 games, then I doubt you'll see any big difference. The question is - how about a few years from now when they actually start milking the chips?

I put my money on PS3's capabilities any day. The only thing is, I'd wait for the white one to arrive. (less finger oil smears)

I have played both systems with the same games
That's the problem. Play ps3 exclusives and you'll see the difference. I played NFS on both systems before and I had a strange feeling that PS3 fucked up. Then I played Ridge racer....

The problem is that most games that are out on ps3 are directly converted from 360 with minor changes so graphics is not improved. Ps3 exclusives have better graphics really.

Also yeah, it'll take some time untill they'll fully use that chip.
It's as good as best graphic cards out these days with few innovations that haven't been even used yet like more complex rendering and newer shadows.
While both consoles will have similar fps amount, ps3 will have nicer graphics.
The thing is 360 uses 100% of it's possibilities now while ps3 only about 60%.

Also newer more complex games won't fit on a single dvd disk. You can buy hd-dvd for 360 but it won't read games anyway - it's only for movies.

Completely summed it up right there! I would go for the PS3 as the better console in the long run. As masta said the PS3 is currently only running at about 60% of is capabilities as of now. Give it another year or so and the graphics will be fuckin amazing. Shit the Gran Turismo Concept demo alone is so fuckin sick! But again it's up to you and wat type of games you like playing.
