^It is almost to impossible to do it unless you can change the ports from the firewall. But we warned if they catch you "hacking" their system they will ban you from using their internet connection. I do remember thought that when napster was big back in the days they had an option in changing ports within their software, I don't know if the software you want to use can give you those kinds of options.

Do Not Try Any Of These On A Computer That Is Property Of Your COLLEGE You will be banned.

Your basicallly fucked if you need administative privliges to change any of these settings though.

Sonic wall security system is basically a private DNS or Proxy server It handles all requests.

Your computer is routed through it. get around it by reconfiguring your browsers proxy settings. Check this first.

Second suggestion Worst case Senario
your network card may also have some special 3rd party protocol that it is binding too. And your network settings might also be routing you to the private DNS so that you can not talk directly to content servers If you change some of these settings depending on how the sytem works you can get around it but you might also end up with a computer that cant surf the NET anymore If you dont know what your doing dont try this one

3rd suggestion search the web for some free proxy servers

If you can find a good one then you could try manualy routing your self trough a public proxy to handle your querry I doubt this will help if its the worst case scenario

so if this system is more complexed than just removing a proxy setting or reconfiguring your network settings which is EASY. then you would have to log into the system under alternate credetials EX. as the Administrator to get the thing to work. That will get you expelled. :(
