HBK Hearkens Back To His Past

HBK hearkens back to his past

August 14, 2005

BY BLACKJACK BROWN

Shawn Michaels is no stranger to pay-per-view main events, but in two weeks at SummerSlam, he might wrestle in the biggest match of his career. This isn't the Michaels that fans have seen over the last year, but rather the old HBK, the Degeneration X HBK, and a man with something to prove.

Five wrestlers can make a claim to be the best ever: Ric Flair, Steve Austin, The Rock, Hulk Hogan and Michaels.

For the sake of this argument let's take Rock and Austin out since fans were as interested in their interviews as they were their matches, and let's cut out Flair, who lost quite a few matches to Hogan. That would leave Hogan and Michaels.

HBK was, is and will continue to be better in the ring than Hogan could ever dream to be. But Hogan has an aura and electricity that makes you believe something special is happening. If done right, HBK should find a way to defeat the great Hulkster and use that momentum to earn a title shot against John Cena, another run as world champion and his place as the best ever.

Im really looking forward to this match next week. It would be great if the atmosphere was like Wrestlemania 18. Shawn can definitley lay claim to be the best ever.

Its good to see Hogan cos u mark for the nostalgia and what Hulkamania means, But for Shawn you know that he still gets it done in the ring unlike Hogan. Shawns had 3 match of the year contenders this year, 2 against Kurt, and on RAW against Shelton Benjamin.

I know what you mean about nostalgia, and I have no gripes about this match taking place, nor it being the main event, but WWE seems to be relying too heavily on nostalgia right now. Bringing back Road Warrior Animal (in a frankly worrying "I want to replace my dead tag team partner" angle) and then bringing in Tatanka and Kamala (one-off appearances, I hope) seems to imply they're trying to make fans say "Hey, I remember him" rather than trying to push new, interesting stars.

tatanka got a WWE contract, lmao,he's just taking time to lose weight and get back in shape, then he's back.

Hogain will never put over Michaels, his ego is too fuckin big.Plus he probably won't be wrestling anymore,so this could be his very last match.I don't think he'd want it to be a loss.

If you guys are not willing to spend the money for Summerslam I have a few questions for you.

1. Do you have a paypal account and 3 bucks?
2. Do you have a DSL connection higher than or around 1MB?
3. You would not mind watching summerslam through winamp?

Go here www.streamtvnow.com

3 bucks and you get a months worth off PPV events which includes soccer (english stuff you guys like), boxing, WWE, TNA shows.
