lol, i just came back from surgery, ive been having this problem during the past 3 years, both of my toes were always with this problem, and ive already done everything to get better, and none of these helped...And during these years i couldnt pratice any kind of sports for a regular period, and it sucks
So i went to the doctor and he made this surgery, that extracts the ingrown nail and the nail matrix too, on both toes, so the nail is not supposed to grow on that side of the toe anymore, after that he droped some acid (the same used on strong peelings) and gave me 1 stitch on each toe.
Well now I have to spend 2 days with my feet up, laying in the bed... and at least one week without any shoe... oh and not mentioning that its painfull as hell, it really is:eek: , it seems like your heart is on your toes, lol... oh i cant find i good position to sleep as well.

Thats it, i just wanted to share my experience with you, cause i dont have anything to do during these days, so guess what, internet is going to be my life for the next week... :D

had 2 (each big toe, each side of the toe) for about 6-7 years. Went to a doctor after the 2nd year but the experience was so terrible (cotton in solution under the nail = not fun) I didn't go back until last year. I didn't need stitches because they no cutting of flesh was made, they just seperated a small portion of the nail from the skin and cut the nail, then put the acid on. The next day i could put on shoes and walk around. Now it looks like a normal toe except a smaller toenail

lmao
i didnt expect any answers to this
well, im really better now, 3 days after, im just at home chilling and taking these medicines, antibiotic and stuff, on monday ill get the stitch off, until then, no shoes... I hope it gets better, so i can go back to my football (soccer) and Capoeira practice

oh, the pics are terrible, no way to compare with mines. But anyway it was really painfull, it seem like there is a needle inside your toe.

were your foot doctors young or old? Seems the older ones do surgery that leads to stiches while younger doctors use the stich-free surgery that heals quicker. I didn't need any medicine other than the tylenol i took after surgery, within a week I could put on normal bandages and then 2 weeks after it was completely healed.
