Technology Have an old CD that will no longer play there is hope

Most have heard before about these CD re-surfacers some even have them. For those who don't this thread is for you.

I know that almost everybody has had a CD, game or movie that is so scratched it has become almost unreadable. I know I have. This is when I found out about Digital Innovations Skip-Dr.
http://www.digitalinnovations.com/skipdr/index.html

I was a little skeptical about weather or not this thing actually worked. So I headed over to Best Buy and picked one up for around 40 dollars. 40 dollars seemed like a lot at the time but after I had recovered a few CD's with the device it was well worth the money.

Once I re-surfaced the cd's I ripped them and burned backups of everything disk I repaired. Problem solved :thumb:

One of my friend had one and it fucked his CD's up. I'd say, back your CD's up to computer when you buy them, or if you haven't, just download them from a P2P

^^ yeah they can fuck up ur cd cuz they shave like small layers from your cd

fuck spending 40 bucks for that, i just put turtle wax or any car wax and it covers up the scratches, and u dont risk damaging the cd. and the wax is dirt cheap. what, each cd doesnt even cost a penny to fix.

just go to those carwash places, where u wash ur car manually with that hose thing, and place a dollar into the machine, then u can fill up like 2 gallons of wax+water. then just apply it to a cloth, and keep applying it to the cd and keep trying it until it works.

nothing will ever work for deep scratches that reach the data layer, cuz once the data layer is punctured, the data within is toast.
