Installed a new graphics card cause the old one was failing. Now letters in bolded black have a greenish look. Like "This," even in white I see some green in there. What to do?

What GFX did you install? and what drivers are you using with it? Either you are using drivers that dont work properly with your GFX or you got a faulty card...

I'm using the drivers that came with the new card. No, the startup screen doesn't have green in it, so I know it's the card and not the monitor. I'm not going to be playing games on here, so I just wanted something that does an adequate job at everything else. It's a basic card: GeForce FX 5500 AGP 8X.

I didn't, however, uninstall my old drivers. But if that was interfering in some way, I would think it would be a major thing, and this is not. Now, I don't know where to look for the old drivers to uninstall them, just in case that's causing the problem. When I go to Add/Remove I just see the new drivers. Any idea where to find the old ones? Have Windows XP Professional (bootleg, of course.)

First, download the latest version of DirectX and install it.You might have to restart the computer

then,go here, download the latest drivers. The drivers that come on the CD are usually very old and poor. You also have to restart after you install them

Couldn't download the updated drivers because it's a slow download and it keeps resetting on me. But I uninstalled the drivers, then deleted the files for the old drivers, downloaded the latest version of DirectX, installed it, then installed the new drivers from the disc again. Nothing changed. So the next thing I'll have to try is to download the new drivers somehow and try that.

I don't think it's the refresh rate. 60 hertz.

^you're not doing anything wrong, SiS sucks ass,i think all their vga adapters are built in the motherboards

^its fused into the motherboard, you cant take it out. BUT, you can disable it from the bios and buy a new card, that will work.So you can get a new card
