well.. i use EditPlus myself.. but if your more of the "i'd rather let the software do the code" type, then I'd suggest Dreamweaver. It's alot easier for.. beginner people.

dreamweaver also helps in the creation of complex CMS and code based sites. It alos useful purely for HTML editing due to its conext help and syntax checking. But yea...it's not bad for beginners.
