Just got a PS3 yesterday, mostly for the blu ray player. Anyway, I still prefer my 360 over the PS3 so any games that I can get on 360 i won't get for PS3.

Does anyone know of any good games that are only out on PS3 that they would personally recommend? Preferably FPS type games.

i don't know if it's something you might like, but Resident Evil 5 is coming up and i think that one is gonna be very cool. i'm not really sure if it's gonna be an exclusive but i think so. God of War 3 is another one that's not out yet. add kill zone 2 to the list. all three seem like they're gonna be awesome games. other than that, the good ones have been recommended. uncharted has a pretty cool solo player campaign, but once you have completed it i don't see how there's much replay value. heavenly sword should have a playable demo on the playstation store so if you make an ea account you should be able to try it out for free. it's a hack-and-slash game very similar to god of war and the likes. and the main character is a chick :) isn't tekken exclusive to playstation as well? i think so. number six is just around the corner, with online play. it's not a shooter but maybe you like fighting games as well.

if you don't have a principal problem with registering your visa on your ea account and burning off $20-30, get PAiN and PixelJunk Monsters from the PSN store. although they are more uh, puzzle/fun games.

i made another thread where i myself as well as a few other posters put up some thoughts about a few games, you'll find more thoughts there. it should be right on the first page.

I was thinking of getting MGS4 and i'm going to try the other one out also that almost everyone has mentioned, the Resistance Fall of Man and see how it works.

I haven't signed up online yet so I don't have a S/N will post once I get it.

I went and bought Heavenly Sword for the fuck of it. So you're not at all interested in games like that, it's mostly just shooters you're after? I'll post up some thoughts when I've played it a bit anyway. At the risk of sounding like an asshole, I figured all chicks would love this game for the main character alone, she's tough, she's hot as fuck, long hair, she's like an amazon warrior gal. With a cute, retarded anime-like little side-kick lol.

I walked right past MGS4.

Can someone give me some more thoughts on that game? I have a confession to make, I never played any of the games in the series. I never really liked games like Delta Force, Rainbow Six, Ghost: Recon, and so forth. How is MGS compared to those games? How does level loading work? Do you go through a menu of strategies and squad setup and shit before each mission, or do you just go from one mission to the next like say Half-Life 2?

So far, Heavenly Sword is pretty awesome. Solo campaign seems rich and the gameplay is rapid and cool. Also, the main character chick is pretty badass. Once you actually get the Heavenly Sword she starts kicking major ass. The story seems to have me intrigued enough so that I want to keep playing. I'm just on a short break now hehehe.

MGS has a really complicated, deep and arresting story. I would say If you haven't played any of them, you'd most likely be confused as to what is going on. I know in MGS3 (which was a prequel) there was an option for people who never played any MGS before.

MGS is a steath game it's not a FPS, so Splinter Cell it would the closest game compaired to it. Also I really don't know how paitent you are, but there are times where you are watching a cut scene for 20+ minutes and you usually go from one mission to the next.

Game is a little like Splinter Cell it's an action/stealth game. And if you've never played the first MSG games then i wouldn't suggest playing this one since you will be completely lost.

Same thing i just said to Preach and exactly wat Dogmatic said. You really DO need to play the original games to truly enjoy this one since the story line is so fuckin complex you wouldn't even know wtf is going on. Game is fuckin tight though! The new octocamo suit is the fuckin shit!!!

The ending is fuckin tight. I hope they make a sequel to the game.

Get the metal gear solid essentials (parts 1,2, and 3) and then mgs4. I'm sure that if you love a story about war, philosophy, government conspiracy, defining consciousousness(?), genetic history, passing on info to the next generation, love and hate, revenge, sorrow, humanity......(could add much more), and badass characters, get this game. Its like modernday shakespeare, half movie half game. It'll make you think, as crazy as that sounds. But all the hype is true.

fuck splinter cell
