Now that I'm getting older, its getting harder and harder for me to find time to workout and stuff. Especially with work and etc. So I was wondering if you guys knew any suggestions to as what I could/should do to stay in shape. I've gained a few pounds and I need to lose it.

I know the dieting thing, but exercising hasn't been constant. Is there like little things I can do so I stay in shape and lose the few lbs. (few - 10lbs)

Someone said to do like 50 crunches before I sleep and like 25 push ups a night and it'll keep my body in shape. Will that do it? I know it won't for cardio, but you know..

Help plx.

cardio, even if it just walking or an stationary bike, that will keep you in shape and help you lose weight and fat

change your diet around. cut out the soda, sweets, white bread. if you do simple things like that you will drop 10 pounds or more. starting eating more salads, just watch the dressing, more fruits etc.

I think soda has a lot to do with it. I drink a lot of it. Probably like 4-5 glasses a day. I really wanna stop that shit, its not healthy I know, but I dunno why I drink it so much.

There's been times, I go a day without drinking water, cuz I always have a bottle of soda around.

soda was hard for me to cut back. i used to drink it like crazy. but i started doing little things. just cutting back and then eventually getting things like coke zero. now i rarely drink one unless i go out to eat. even then if i don't get a diet soda my head starts to hurt about an hour later

Well, needless 2 say, I think you're a hopeless case. :D

But let's give it a try..... like Puff said, esp. if you say you don't have a lot of time to work out, the diet has a lot to do with it.

So, yes, cuttin down on soda is a big part of it. I drink more Cola with Vodka then without it. Seriously. Often go weeks without soda, ain't that hard. Try 2 find a place where they sell apple juice and stuff like that, there are plenty of alternatives. Cuttin down on fast food would be a good idea too.... dunno how many times you go to a fast food place but less would help your cause. Needless 2 say I personally go 2 MC or Burgerking or whatever like once a year.

About workin out..... needless to say that if you only do pushups and crunches, it's different than if you hit the gym, your progress won't be anywhere close to someone that truley works out, however, it will help and is better than nothing. A third exercice that you might be able 2 do somewhere at home and that might help a lot are pull-ups. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pull-up_(exercise) ) - look in your local sport store for a bar, there are some that you can easly set up in a door frame.

Push ups are nice, but mix them up. Besides 'normal' push ups, you can also put your legs/feet on a chair.... or use 2 chairs and make them inbetween to chairs, grappin the elbow-rest with your hands. You'll feel the difference. 2 mix it up is important for your body and your mind, keeps it intersting.

However, I'm against workin out every day. I rather say work out 4 times a week, but if you work out, really work out. 25 push ups are nothing. Rather do a couple of sets, you really gotta work out. So 3* 25 push ups, crunches inbetween and afterwards 3 sets or pull ups rather sounds like a work out. And of course you gotta aim for more as you are gettin in shape, that's the whole point of it.....

First of all saying you don't have enough time to work out is complete bullshit it only takes 45mins to an hour (doing more would be detrimental). Soda is unacceptable if you want to "get in shape". Protein intake is essential really can't stress that enough and my trainer always says USE IT OR LOSE IT!

yeah eat fruit. cut off the soda. you'll lose 5-10 lbs by not drinking pepsi and coke.

you can quit, drink a alternative like water, or buy some unsweetend ice tea mix. drink milk, oj.

If he works out only doin pushups he needs no protein, it's not like he's talkin about hardcore weight lifting.....

and well, soda means all that BS, not only Coke and pesi...

crunches alone won't help a lot man. at least do push ups too, but well, depending on your shape you might have to run etc to get down your body fat......

water is healthy, healthier than soda, that's clear.....but also it's clear that to only drink water won't get you in shape, I mean, come on guys. Don't be as lazy, get out there and sweat.
