France Football's Ballon d'Or Nominees

France Football have named the 50 nominees for the prestigious Ballon d'Or award with seven Englishmen on the list.

Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen, Frank Lampard, John Terry, David Beckham, Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard are in the running for the gong, which was scooped by Milan striker Andrei Shevchenko last year.

The mantle of European Footballer of the Year accompanies the prize and there are a number of Premiership contenders, including the likes of Michael Essien, Petr Cech, Park Ji-sung and Luis Garcia.

Barcelona star Ronaldinho will be favourite to come out on top with the winner announced later in the year.

Yes i have and one more is missing. some guy who been there for his entire career, happends to wear this red thingy, carries number ten on his shoulders, goes by some name you might've heard Alessandro Del Piero.

Im sure he means Juninho Pernambucano for Lyon.U n=know the guy who tends to score nearly every free kick he takes unlike Beckham whom people with a lack of soccer knowledge tend to say is the best free kick taker in the world.

I mean how did that fool make the top 50 even.He has been rubbish dis year apart from the past month or so.

yes that is what i meant... and did anyone see juninho's free kick against olympiacos? amazing shit! riggggggghhhtt in the corner. so fast too. him or ballack will win, because i think that without either, their respective teams would lose an edge. the winning edge perhaps...:rolleyes:
