Film: What The Bleep Do We Know?

#1
Anyone else seen this? I rented it a few weeks ago and had my mind blown away by some of the concepts, such as being able to affect the composition of water purely with your thoughts, and then consider the human body is predominantly made up of water.

It's a documentary asking the usual fundamental questions, who are we, why are we here, how are we here, are we relevant, etc.

I did turn it off a good 20 to 30 minutes before it ended though, it stopped the commentary for too long and felt like it turned into Baz Luhrman's preproduction for Moulin Rouge, which really pissed me off - it went from the most brain stimulating thing to actually lowering your IQ.

First three quarters of the film are amazing none the less, but you do have to pay attention.

Interesting... I'd only heard about it from alternative cinema promo and critic's reviews, both of which said it was good. But I can understand where you're both coming from; there's some great content in there but it really could have been so much better, the story line that ties it all together gets too ridiculous.

I'd still like to hear from people who have seen it.

^^^ Thanks for the links, good to read.

I do like the underlying message of the film though - you can do anything if you put yourself out there and apply yourself to it. Granted though, it shouldn't take a trippy documentary to make people realise this.

However I do take what skeptics says with a pinch of salt.. Arguments from phsyicists are interesting yet when dealing with science at that level it is clear there is no precise answer or globally accepted science, and I know I'm certainly not qualified to answer or comment in that field... As for philosophy, I did a degree in it so I firmly believe there's no right or wrong answer across the fields.

I don't believe the film is out to brainwash people, I'd recommened approaching it with an open mind. If you watch it it certainly isn't paranormal, although I can understand how it could be interpreted that way.

Consequently, I'd still like to hear some reactions from people who have actually seen it.
