It was a peer-selected squad of XI (one keeper, four defenders, four midfielders, two forwards) representing the best in the world. The awards were chosen by the 38,000 members of FIFPro, the internaional player's union.

Ronaldinho was crowned World Player of the Year and Wayne Rooney World Young Player of the Year. Cristiano Ronaldo won the fan-voted Special Young Player Of The Year award and Pele got a FIFPro Legend award.

WTF at Zidane, he had an average season last season, while Gerrard won the European cup and not one Liverpool player is in the final 11..but the choke artists have 5!!
