I was hoping to use this space to run down the order in which WWE stars will enter this weekend's Royal Rumble match. However, at the last minute, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon decided that for the first time in Rumble history, the wrestlers would not be allowed to draw their numbers -- instead McMahon himself will decide the order of entry. Right off the bat, this tells you two things: It will be a very short night for Triple H, and it will be a very long night for Shawn Michaels. The brunt of McMahon's new attitude for whatever reason has been the Heartbreak Kid, and if the boss plans on picking the numbers himself, there's little doubt Michaels will be the first man to hit the ring come bell time Sunday night.
AROUND THE RING: Despite the UPN/WB merger, "SmackDown!'' will remain on the new combined network in its usual Friday night time slot. ... Some seem to think The Rock is looking to work a match at WrestleMania 22 but would refuse to work against Shawn Michaels. ... Contrary to Internet rumors, Raven and TNA are on good terms.
