Technology Essential Technology

What are the essential pieces of technology you have, or the ones you'd like to have?

Firstly, my mp3 player. A 40GB Creative NOMAD Zen Xtra with about 6,000 songs on there at the moment, meaning I never get bored.

Secondly, my DVD recorder. I always used to record stuff to tape and never watch it, but for some reason putting it on DVD makes me wanna watch it more. Plus, the quality is better and I don't have to fast forward for ages to find the stuff I actually wanted to watch.

Thirdly, my portable DVD player. So I can watch the stuff I record. Who has time to sit down and watch a DVD these days? Well with a portable DVD player I can watch DVDs in the car, on the bus or during boring lectures at Uni.

And my laptop, but that's a given.

I wanna get a portable media player to replace my mp3 player, so I can upload videos and watch them. Problem is, they're too big. I'll have to wait until a nice small one comes out.

cable- because without iO cable i would be bored of the tv and i wouldnt have magrack. and optimum online is way better then VOL that i had. having a 10Mb down and 1 Mb up connection is the best.

PSP-i use it as my main system, i barely play my xbox for now. plus i use it as my MP3 player. my record is 23 songs on the OG stick. but ill be getting the 256 soon :).

Laptop with wireless-not only can i go on the computer anywhere, i still get internet anywhere from my house. its great :thumb:

Depends what you consider essential technology.

When I think of essential, I think a long the lines that you can't live with out it.

All of the stuff you listed is shit I could live with out here is a list of shit you can't live with out...

1. A Clock is an Essential piece of technology (can't tell time with out it, Qhat are you going to do look up at the sun?)

2. How about a compass..(how would you know which way was north?)

3. A Bic Lighter is nice too, how could you make fire with out one (I ain't rubbing two sticks together)

4. A gun is essential piece of technology (how could you survive with out a weapon.)

5. What about a fishing Pole or some shit like that how could you survive stranded on a Island like the survivor shit.

While yet all very low tech, yet still very much tech.
Modern replacements such as GPS, Digital Watches, Torch Lighters, Assult rifles etc these all were technological breaktroughs at the time and are things you can't live without.

Ok first let me start by saying I am a walking contradiction.
I don't like "progress" in most fields, but I love my fucking gadgets.

PSP-I fucking love all it can do, but I can not affored to make it reach its full potential right now :(

All Game systems, I love them, I collect them, I PLAY them. it is so hard paying top doller the day shit comes out knowing if you just wait 6-12 months you will save money. but I ussualy do it.

DVD Player-I fucking love my movies. I watch a DVD everyday so without it I would be stuck with shity "programing"

Computer-I mean come on we are all here, we all know they kick anus!

Cell Phone-I can not wait for my new LG VX8000 to come in the mail, seems like it wil be endless fun.

now a Piece of Technolgy I want is a HD Widescreen TV. so I can enjoy all my Widescreen DVD"s in there full glory!

OK, I didn't literally mean essential technology, just stuff that improves your daily life that you really, really like.
