They defeated the 1976 Indiana Hoosiers 52.7% to 47.3%.

North Carolina had defeated the 1996 Kentucky Wildcats in the Final Four, and Indiana beat the 1969 UCLA Bruins.

Other Notables:

- The most recent champions, the 2005 Tar Heels, were ousted by the same Kentucky team that fell to Jordan and Worthy in the Final Four.

- One Dook team (1992) made it to the Sweet 16, and none further.

- Larry Bird's Indiana State Sycamores made it to the Elite Eight.

- Ewing's '84 Georgetown Hoyas lost to the Heels again in the Elite 8.

- San Francisco advanced two teams ('55 and '56) to the Sweet 16.

- Magic Johnson made it to the Elite 8, falling to the eventual runner-ups.

Any team with Michael Jordan associated with it is automatically getting the most votes, REGARDLESS if it's the best choice (it isn't, let's be real).

Who'd be my pick? Take your pick of UCLA squads, my favorite being the '69 squad, Kareem's senior year, when they started 23-0.

I think that's unfair though.

Jordan - greatest player ever
Worthy - Top 50 greatest player
Perkins - one of the most solid players in the NBA for a long time

few teams can boast that they had players of that caliber on their roster at the same time
