Is the bench-press the best way to develop chest muscles? Also, is it weird if one side is slightly larger than the other? lol

i feel dumbells work better, get a bigger range of movement. change it up though. varying your routine gets results.

bench press is king exerices when it comes to upper body, simple as that.
If you are able to, don't forget about decline/incline bench press and like dude said before, mix it up a lil, use the dumbells sometimes etc etc (I don't want to go all the way now and explain how 2 work out, I just assume u know that) .

Another exericce you should add are flies (butterfly or dumbell). Basically that's what I do for my pec, benchpress, flies und then decline or incline benchpress - only 3 exerices but if done the right way, it works.

Here are a few chest workouts that you can do. You can always adjust your weight and reps but this should be a pretty good layout. If you or anyone needs workout plans or certain body part workouts just Pm me and i'll send a few.

It's good to have a variety of excercises when developing your chest. For example you could do weight training some days mixed with say non stop push-ups for another day. Also. if you have a punching bag, I highly recommend taking a few rounds out on that a few times a week! Since I've started hitting the bag, the lower pectoral part of my chest has really developed!

I believe so. Like someone else said, vary your routines. There are slight change ups you can do when bench pressing. Lying flat when benching is the obvious one. Try rolling a towel so it's like one long piece of dough. Place it in the middle of your chest vertically so you know how far to bring down the bar. It's a good indicator of how far to come down. To alter ya benching try putting your seat at at angle where your slightly at a sitting angle but not quite. From here you can work the top of the chest and shoulders. You can use dumbells as well, pushing them up from ya sides and bringing them together above ya eyes arms stertcheds upwards. Dumbells also are great for working the chest. Lying flat with a dumbell in each hand resting on ya chest for starters. Lift both dumbells up above ya chest in a starting position and bring them down slowly to the side with arms stretched. Bring them back to the starting position and repeat it. Maybe 3 sets of 10.

It's best not to rest too long in between sets. Thats why it's also good to have a partner. Spur you on and spot you when benching and also when he finishes your str8 back on.

Work on different parts of ya body though. Chest and shoulders on Monday, Wednesday. Legs, mid section on Tuesday. Friday etc...Don't overwork one partticular muscle.
