Bayern Munich and Germany midfielder Sebastain Deisler has retired at the age of 27.

His career has been plaqued by injuries which have subsequently forced him to retire. The talented player made a name for himself whil at Hertha Berlin whom he joined from Borussia Monchengladbach. He was one of Hertha Berlins best players in their Champions League campaign in the 99/00 season and was considered as the saviour of German football. He moved to Bayern Munich in 2002 but only made 62 Bundesliga appearances as a results of his constant knee injuries. He also suffered from chronic depression during the 2003-2004 season.

Its a pity because he was a very talented player.

Havn't heard of him before but have a happy retirement! lol
^Umm..It's a forced retirement. Smh..

Anyway, I heard he went through depression a few years ago. I never got to see him play alot, only a handful of games and he looked a talented player.

(also he was my number 1 buy in a few football manager games :p)

He was a very talented player though.Injuries destroyed him.Ive seen him play for Hertha Berlin a few times.I have only seen him in action for Germany and Bayern a few times.I remember he played against Ireland in the European U18 final years ago(Ireland won btw).He was at his best when he played for Hertha Berlin.

How is it going to be a happy retirement Rahim, you thick piece of shit.He was forced to retire because of injuries.I think it was the injuries that caused his depression too.Retiring will be an absolute nightmare for him.But being Canadian,i guess you wouldn't understand sports or sports people.

Thats because he only played 10 (!!!) full games for munich in more than 4 and a half years!

Without all the injury problems he would have been as good as, lets say Schweinsteiger.

Yea he would have been a class player.

I meant to say that ive seen him play a lot for Hertha Berlin as they were in the Champions League and UEFA Cup for a few years back in the early 2000s.I only saw him in action for Germany once or twice and i saw very little of him in a Bayern shirt.
