Technology Constant Freezing!

#1
My comp keeps freezing and freezing. It's radicilous. I never had this problem before. Just now it started freezing. What should I do? I was told its either motherboard or hd thats causing to freeze. But, what do I do about it? Is there any program that I can run and make it stop freezing?

it does that to my computer too. i think its all about how much memory there's left in your computer or something like that. me when it happens too much i delete some programs that are useless (because i always install more programs that i end up never using) and then it stops freezing like that. cuz maybe your computer is not enough powerful for the amount of things you installed on it or something like that.

What is your system specs? As a precaution run Adware & Microsoft's spyware remover (the programs name escapes me right now) and of course a virus check. Also update your programs like firefox and aol.

Lastly press control alt delete together and see what running. See if your computer is running at 100%.

also. try download.com and download something called freeramxp or something liek that

it docks itself in your taskbar, and it lets you know how much ram you have free at all times...you set a point, where if you have less than X amount of ram, it will automatically free up some space...usually by the 100's of MB for me....so gi ve that a shot...you can also manually free up some ram if its just1 mb or something, shy of the auto-free....that really helped me out alot

but my comp has been freezing the last 3 days or so...but then it unfreezes about 10 mins. later...but it is annoying..

Oh one other thing I forgot to point out. when I restart and just as windows start to load up theres this weird sound it gives like when you drag a chair on the floor roughly it has some kinda raugh sound to it right? well thats how it sounds when windows load up. I dont know if that has anything to do with freezing but that sound wasnt accuring before just like comp wasnt freezing before.

Maybe it is time to reinstal your OS? It is recommended to reinstal your OS every year or two. You might have a corrupted system file.

^well when it overheats, the computer usually closes itself. i had that with my other computer. it would get overheated, then a blue screen would appear for 60 sec then it would close.

No I dont think its becuase of overheating because It is the way it was. I didn't rearange anything. my computer is very close to the wall though, but thats always been like that ever since I started using comp. Perhaps it being to close to the wall is no good?

I hope its not yware/virus thing. I dont even know what that is.

Sorry man I really don't know of my top of my head... Is it a particular application that makes your computer freeze or it just happens on random? To be on the safe side back up all your data and once you have I would reinstall your OS and also would clean your computer from the inside to get those dustmites out so your fan can run better. I hope someone else can find the solution.
