Charlton Athletic have agreed a fee with Everton for Marcus Bent.
Addicks boss Alan Curbishley is keen to bolster his attack and has agreed a £2.5 million fee for Bent.
Bent has struggled to hold down a regular place in the Everton side this season, despite helping them finish fourth last term.
The 27-year-old is thought to be keen on a move away from Goodison Park as he searches for regular first team football.
Bent is expected to hold talks with Charlton on Monday and Charlton will be hoping to tie up a deal quickly for the former Crystal Palace and Blackburn man.
Everton chief executive Keith Wyness confirmed a fee had been agreed between both clubs.
"The two clubs have been speaking over the weekend and have agreed a deal," Wyness told the club's official website.
"We have now given permission to Marcus to travel to London to discuss personal terms."
The arrival of Bent will allow Charlton to offload Jason Euell to Birmingham.
