Champions League Semi Finals

The problem with Milan is that they are too old.The warning signs were there in the final against Liverpool last year or even the semi final the year b4 against Deportivo.They havent the legs anymore.They tired midway through the second half tonight and thats when Barcelona took over.I cant believe they didnt rectify this problem by signing some younger players especially in defence.They can produce flashes of brilliance but its not enough.Kaka isnt playing well either.They are well capable of beating Barcelona at the Nou Camp but i dont think they will.

Ronaldinho pass for the goal was sublime as was the other pass he played to Eto'o,but he wasnt great overall tonight.He gave the ball away alot.He is always capable of a moment of magic and thus change a game.Anyone see when he scooped the ball over AC Milan players head and ran onto it again.class.

Barca deserved it. I like their style of play. The field play is impeccable. Gotta love how they keep the field so wide. Milan was struggling with that.

Arsenal to win tomorrow :thumb:

It was though game. Barca didn't show 'something special' (what we get used to) but they showed maturity. In these important games if you win when you are visiting you are with one leg into next round. Hope to see Barca destroying Milan at Nou Camp and show why we all love this game.
As for the Arsenal vs. Villareal I would like to see Spanish side continuing to give lessons to the teams from the UK.

^ I don't think Villareal is gonna win this. Only if Arsenal begin the game half-hearted but i doubt they will.

Predictable. Although Arsenal "forgot" to score a second goal. I'm confident in their ability to beat those canaries in Spain.

We'll see. Arsenal is closer to the final but still nothing is over. Many teams understimated Villareal and now they are watching games from home. 'English' players put so much effort to stop Riquelme and they suceeded. But in Spain this will be much, much harder. Villareal already proved that they are capable to take down favourites so I'm looking forward to see second game. Btw Milan vs. Barcelona was much better game...

Only if all referees were fair,know how to ref the games.I wish refs were as fair as in other sport leagues such as NBA,MLB.But in soccer,refs sock.Whats mind blowing is when someone gets tackled and is down for sometime and ref comes in running to him and screaming in his face to get up, two mins later you see player being taken out off the field with stretchers or whatever is called, abviously the player was injured and wasn't faking.Besides you were right in front of the play and couldn't see him being tackled?

Inconsistency of referees is really bad in soccer.

Wenger has Europe sussed with this 4-1-4-1 formation he's playing. Gilberto snuffed out Riquelme all game and the amount of runners Henry is getting running past him when he's holding the ball up is scary. He always has at least one full back and 3 breaking from midfield and no-one seems capable of handling it.

Good comment. FIFA & UEFA are responsible for many mistakes that hurt the game. They are aware of this so they are trying to establish inovations in the game and put referees on the level of NFL.
And referee should give Villareal penalty in the first half. Gilberto killed Jose Mari.:mad:

True about the penalty but Henry had a perfectly good goal chopped off.

Thye small highbury pitch doesnt suit a player like Riquelme.He needs space and time to do his thing.I think Arsenal will be good enough to go through.

About the dimensions of now legendary Highbury... It's common thought that Highbury has a shorter pitch. I had this opinion also. But, during the game against Villareal I heard on TV that the pitch has the same lenght as San Siro or Nou Camp. On the other side, when it comes to width Highbury is some 4 meters shorter. Don't know if this is true but it could be easilly. Space outside the pitch is so small at Highbury so maybe it looks like smaller than Highbury really is...

Highbury = 101m x 67m
Bernabea = 106 x 70
Old Trafford = 105 x 68
Nou Camp = 105 x 72

It is a little bit smaller but it looks narrower than it actually is due to how low the television camera sits at Highbury.
