Cardio while bulking?

Sup mofos.

I've been lifting for quite some time, but never did cardio since I didn't need any fat loss that couldn't be achieved by eliminating bad foods. I'm happy with my fat % right now and i'm pretty much on a constant bulk. However I want to start doing some running to start workin my heart out some more, so how would I go about getting my cardio in without losing musle/hurting muscle gains? I know there's a few bodybuilders on here, any advice would be aprreciated.

I'm guessing you need to work out when to do cardio and when to do muscle building. Make sure you eat enough i guess. That seems obvious but im no expert.

Do cardio one or twice a week and keep lifting the way you do (if you're happy with the results and know how to lift weights lol) and you won't lose any muscles at all.

Oh yeah maybe I should mention that I'll be doing the cardio after I lift, 3 times a week. As for now I'm supplementing with 30 grams of protein between lifting and cardio, and I have a banana after cardio. Is this enough to prevent muscle breakdown?

Thanks for the replies duke and menace. much appreciated.

if you don't want to lose muscle, don't run.Plain and simple. Just walk on a treadmill,or cycle, keep your heart rate around 130,not over. After your heart rate goes over 130,you start to burn glycogen and you will lose muscle.

after your workout, down a protein shake within 30 minutes. That should be enough to feed your muscles with the neccessary proteins and amino acids.I'd forget about the banana after workout.Get some dextrose instead and add it to the protein shake you take after workout. It will spike your insulin and better absorb the protein

As long as you have a healthy body fat percentage (between 10 and 15%) then doing cardio in moderation WILL NOT lose you any muscle, cardio work burns fat and as long as theres enough on your body and you don't overdo it then it will only help your muscles look leaner and more toned. Cardio before a weights workout is also proven to make your workout more productive leading to more muscle breakdown so whatever way you look at it your a winner!!

So you can't have a healthy heart if you have muscles?
no, bugsy was right. having healthier heart is much more important than big biceps. when you're only working with weights and not doing cardio, you're adding weight to your body, but you're not training your heart properly, you gotta prepare your heart for bigger body, for harder work pumping blood.
i've ran 2 marathons in my life. a lot of running does decrease your body weight, you lose some muscles. but if you're running 1-3 times a week for about up to 6km every time, it will be ok, you won't lose anything. your lifting results should also improve. that's what was with me.
