Professor Susumu Tachi of Tokyo University has made a coat that you can see through just like Harry Potter's invisibility cloak.

The cloak is covered with tiny light-reflective beads. It appears to be transparent as it's fitted with cameras which project what is in front of the wearer onto the back of the cloak, and vice versa.

The Discovery Channel ran a story a few years ago, demonstrating invisible soldiers advancing towards the Waco building in Texas, with similiar technology.

Pretty cool. The US military is working on something very similar, as well as wetsuit type suits that augment peoples ability, strength ect ect. Like extra muscles built into the suit.

Yeah, the British are working on something similar. 'Super Warriors' is what they hope to create. The suits allow the wearer extra strength, speed, a controlled temperature - allowing the wearers to survive in searing heat or the freezing cold - & renders them fireproof etc, etc.

That is awesome, but it is also scary. The military would be able to go anywhere virtually unnoticed. The administration might use that technology to have soldiers plant cameras on people's property. haha, that is a bit of a strech.

But wouldn't these people be detected by infrared cameras?

Zero, you don't believe "he can run 50 miles an hour," do you? There's no such technology, and there won't be any time soon. The speed of a human mainly lies in their legs. Currently, our legs are too weak for us to run 50 miles an hour.

No of course not. I was replying to his general point about the huge advances being made in military technology.

Yeah, 50 miles per hour sounds exagerrated. That said, these suits will allow men to run faster than previously thought possible. I don't know how it would affect Olympic runners, but normal men are meant to get a huge benefit from the muscle support they receive.

Thank you! punch Bricks sure! but I can not imagin something that woudl Enable a human body to "Run" at 50 MPH, for the reasons you said!

more muscle = more weight = slower running

how can those things make you run faster? unless they have some devices that moves your legs by themselves, which i highly doubt.\

make you stronger, yes i agree, but make you run faster i disagree

The stronger the legs, the faster you run is the logic that is being put forth. So if the suit strengthens your legs by lending support, then you can run faster.

Lending support to the muscles will undoubtedly allow a man to run for longer - your muscles won't tire as easily.

And nobody said it would be ready anytime soon. Few inventions (if any) look or sounds plausible in the preliminary stages.
