The last time wrestling fans saw Bret ''The Hitman'' Hart, he made a rare appearance at Mr. McMahon's appreciation night. Hart, who has been at odds with WWE over some of the details surrounding the death of his brother Owen, now seems willing to be a part of the WWE family again.
In a recent interview, Hart said: ''I guess I wanted to show that I could bury the hatchet, that I could have some fun with it. I think at the time I was trying to get permission from the WWE for some pictures to use in my book. I thought that if I didn't do it ... I might not get them. I thought I could have some fun with it and not take it too seriously.''
Hart went on to say that while he enjoys living in Hawaii, he would be open to a return to TV.
''I always tell them they can ask; there's no harm in asking,'' Hart said. ''My whole attitude is, 'Can I have fun with it?'''
Hart is one of the 10 greatest superstars in wrestling history and probably should take the high road for the sake of the fans. A victory tour for ''The Hitman'' would be the proper way to cap a Hall of Fame career.
HEARD AROUND THE RING: Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe plan to change the wrestling business with their match tonight at ''Lockdown.'' Both are looking forward to the crowd reaction to their MMA-style bout, which Samoa Joe is expected to win. As for Samoa Joe, he still hasn't signed his new TNA deal, but he plans to do so in the coming week. ... ''Raw'' drew only a 3.3 rating Monday, down from a 3.9 the previous week. Ric Flair's retirement announcement certainly had a lot to do with the 3.9, but this past edition of ''Raw'' was just poor.
