EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) - Los Angeles Clippers forward Elton Brand underwent successful surgery on Tuesday to repair his ruptured left Achilles tendon.
The operation was performed by orthopedic surgeon Craig Morgan in Wilmington, Del. Brand, 28, injured the tendon during his daily workout last Friday.
He averaged 20.5 points and 9.3 rebounds last season.
While there has been no timetable set for his return to the court, he is expected to miss at least the first several months of the season.
He will wear a cast for six weeks, then a walking boot for another six.
