Anybody know any books that are memoirs? They are sort of autobiographical, but not really. I mean, there are tons of books, of course, but I would like an interesting book from an interesting author. I don't want a memoir of Britney Spears, if you catch my drift.
Well, what kind of person are you interested in? A great businessman, soldier, scientist, artist, musician, criminal, etc. I know of great memoirs from each one.
^Thank you. I placed a hold for the first one in my local library. I am refraining from the second one, I'm tired of race-related books. Also, you're welcome to list other great ones you know, even though they might be over 300pgs.
American Soldier (2004) by Tommy Franks- He was Commander in Chief of the United States Central Command from July 2000 through July 2003. Great read and insightful.
The Light That Never Dies (2004) by William Hendricks- library might not have this. It's about death and everything.
The Pianist (2002) by Wladyslaw Szpilman- about a Polish pianist who hides out in German-occupied Poland throughout WW II. There was a good movie made of this too.
Angela's Ashes (1996) by Frank McCourt- modern classic, childhood in Ireland. Amazing.
