Lol Roy Jones is finished unfortunatly, but good luck to him if he wants to fight on i guess. It's his gamble. Gotta agree with you about Hearns tho, he did sound a bit wierd. Also another making a comeback is Tommy Morrison lol, he claims he was falsely diagnosed with HIV or something. I remember he used to have a lot of 1st round knockouts back in the day but was still largely overrated. Plus Rocky Balboa whooped his ass in that streetfight:laugh:

Yeah he also got KO'D from Michael bent in 1 or 2 rounds! and lost the WBO heavyweight title. Then that english wonder herbie hide KO'D bent, then Herbie jamp in a little too deep against Riddick bowe and got KO'D himself.

Lol Herbie Hyde is a complete joker, glass chin. He lives in Norwich just near me , i've seen him at various clubs there walking round like he is the big star, Always trying to fight with doormen.
I remember watching Lennox Lewis beat up Morrison , knocked him down about 4-5 times , the Americans were all behind Morrison in a big way that night, he had power but i think the Rocky film had casual boxing fans expecting a bit too much from him.

Some may think he made a dumb move fighting bowe, but he got paid 2 million for the fight!

Well this Saturday is Mosley vs Vargas fight. Who are you guys going for? I am trying to root for Vargas but him cheating with using steriods pissed me off. I had money on his ass and De La Hoya KO'ed him. Should I give Vargas a second chance or just root for Mosley?

My thinking is, once a cheater always a cheater.

Muhammad Ali is definately my favourite fighter from the past,He had amazing footwork and speed,He also had the psychological edge on his opponents...........
As far as present fighters go i would have to say Joe Calzaghe at the moment..............He demolished Jeff Lacy for an entire twelve rounds in what is said to be the best show of skill from a british fighter!................................

The first fight did not exactly exite me but i think mosley will get this one again on points or vargas will be stopped for a cut or swelling again.
To be honest , neither fighter are at their best but its always nice to see a fight at the weekend, plus de la hoya is a good promoter and generally puts on a good undercard

Well i was kind of right about Mosley winning:laugh: A good finish to a rather crappy fight as anticipated. What was Vargas thinking, came in with no real plan it seemed, unless you are ferocious/relentless there is no point plodding forward into a jab. Once he got inside he did not work (not helped by spoiling tactics by Mosley).
Good luck to Mosley tho, i did not think he had it in him anymore to ko opponants on recent performances.

Ah well, next week should be a bit better, Gatti vs Baldomir which should see Gatti victorious and lead to a fight with Hatton.....i hope:p

After Hattons performance against Louis Collazo (Whom Hatton thought to be the easy option) Im not convinced that hatton would be able to handle the likes of Gatti,Mayweather Jr,and the few other fighters he hopes to fight before he retires......

Well you have to consider that Gatti and mayweather are just blown up light welterweights themselves anyway, whereas Collazo was a fighter who had campaigned at welter his entire career and was a ducked fighter.
And how could he have seen it as an easy option? It was a short notice decision to fight Collazo. Seven weeks before the fight Hatton was in training to fight Juan Lazcano at 140, when that fell through Collazo was the only option HBO would accept. He had 7 weeks to build muscle to fight at 147, of course anyone would struggle being inflated in a short space of time. His tactics were wrong also on the night but anyone who has watched Hatton over the years will know that he is also a great boxer.

Mayweather has lost his p4p title to me and a lot of boxing fans of late anyway, until he starts taking some risks and big fights i will feel the same way about him. He just turned down like 8 mill to fight Margarito. I just don't think he would beable to handle Hatton like that, i've always said it and i still believe it. Mayweather should put up or shutup

Hatton imo has a good chance of beating anybody at light welter, he must not fight at welterweight for atleast a couple of years. He has to prepare the same way he did for tyzsu, no shortcuts. If he fights at welterweight any time soon he'll be getting KO'D without a doubt.

Collazo for me is a very average fighter who came very close to handing his first defeat. And for me the reason that happend was cuz he was simply a bigger stronger man.

Hatton is a great boxer,There is no doubt about that! Im just not 100% positive that he can beeat the likes of Gatti and mayweather even if they are just blown up light welterweights themselves..............They are very experienced in the Welter weight division........

So Gatti loses by knockout to a very average but consistant Carlos Baldomir. Me personally thought he would win this one but i see this as a loss down to the fact that Gatti can not really hang at that weight, plus too many shots taken over his career has hindered his defence now.

Now it is certain than mayweather will emerge after turning down far more bigger fights over the last few weeks and go for a fight against Baldomir. Surely he couldn't be taking the easy route again

Its a shame really, as i would have loved to have seen a Hatton v Gatti fight, it still could come off as it would be a totally different fight and one that Gatti would have more chance of winning due to the fact that he wouldn't have to go looking for Ricky. I still have Hatton winning that fight tho, on workrate and stamina alone.
