Technology Any way to delete permanent addresses?

#1
Ok, i started using firefox and its >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> than IE imo, but my prob is with IE. When i used it, it would save
adresses such as google searches or addresses typed in the search bar. It only saves some and others it would delete when I would clear everything in the options menu. I dont know how to delete it and reinstall it, so if sumone can run me through, that would be great :D

I don't quite understand your question? Do you want to delete the addresses that show up in the address bar in Firefox? Or do you want to delete some but save others?

haha, shit my bad....

Basically what happened was, I was originally using IE. When you bookmark certain sites it stays on ur computer, hence "permanent addresses". My problem is, IE "bookmarked" odd sites and searches and embedded them into it. When I would type in the letter 'g' in the address bar, it basically brings up all the searches done beginning with the letter 'g'. Now i never bookmarked a lot of these searches and sites, and it permanently stuck them there. Even if i go to options and clear everything(history, cookies, cache, etc.) the addresses still wont delete or disappear. How can i delete the addresses, even if i have to delete IE (which i dont know how) and reinstall. Where exactly on my computer are these websites being saved, cuz i cant find them no where!

This behavior is by defualt.

FireFox/mozilla/netcape will only save information that you type in
the address bar if you press enter.

It does not save information you type in the address bar when you click GO.

unistalling and reinstalling will not correct this behavior.
If you want to save shit you search for then bookmark it.
If you want to clear your tracks then clear everything this means(history, saved Form Information, saved passwords, download manager history, cookies, and cache)

You should update to FIREFOX ver 1.02 for security reasons.

You can find out what version you have by opening firefox and then clicking on help and then clicking about firefox

if your version is not 1.02

you will have to download the latest version and uninstall firefox before you reinstall the latest version.

to do this 1. click start

2. click settings and open the control panel

3. if you are using XP click classic view otherwise ignor this step

4. now click the add and remove programs ICON

5. Find The entry NAMED MOZILLA FIREFOX click on it and now click
change or remove.

6. Follow Instruction it gives you.

7. Now install 1.02

Firefox is way better than IE and im currently using using Firefox

but my prob is with IE and not firefox :)
YOU CAN NOT UNINSTALL INTERNET EXPLORER It is bundled with the OS.

The only windows versions that you can uninstall IE from are Windows 95 and windows NT 4.0

If you cant clear your tracks in IE and you can't Then you need to manualy delete them.
