Vikings wer eliminated on xmas day and (despite getin ever present i cud hope for) resulted in the worst xmas ever. The packers, near comeback was very excitin and got my blood goin. i never expected a vikings lost, i thought it was coming to week 17 to decided the final fate of the viks. But the contraversial season, with the great, come from behind save, ended on xmas and killed the spirit of vikings fans everwhere.
Now the real question is, will we see Mike Tice and Dante Culpepper back in purple.
A team that wer great, with great contentions for playoffs and superbowl futures, was hurt by its constant contraversy. (despite the numerous events that happened before) we'll start this story last year, weak 17, while the vikings wer fighting for a wildcard birth. Im sur everyone remebers the randy moss contraversies, i gess we'll start with the "walk out". with seconds left in the game, and the vikings down by one score, Randy Moss walked outta the game, as the viks went for an onside kick to help them giv a chance to clinch a playoff spot. Despite the missed onside kick and loss in the game, the vikings luckily pulled off a playoff birth, against ther arch rivals, the Green Bay Packers.
Throughout the seasons, packers fans hav been loud, mean, and very rude, towards ther opponites, vikings included. They've even had a very disrepectful cheer at the end of the game after a win, towards the opposite team, a nice full moon into ther opponents face. This was a very funny, clever taunt, until the Moss contraversy continued. Moss, after scoring a touch down, in a blow out win against the Packs, in the wild card round, decided to pretend to moon the packers fans, to shove the game in ther face. And of course, like every thing else in Moss's career, this was a big deal. Moss was fined, and yet another distraction was added to the Vikes, in ther playoff run. The vikings wud soon lose to the philidelphia eagles in the division championship and wud end ther playoff hopes. But that wud defineatly not end ther reign of contraversy
soon after the 2005 superbowl, the vikings head coach, Mike Tice, was fined for scalping tickets to the huge game. This didnts help tice who was fighting for his job as it was. But he survided and tried to contribute to the vikings in the offseason
the vikings wer starting to get tired of the media following them everywhere, waiting for a another contraversial mistake, so the vikings traded away ther top reciever to the raiders in a very contraversial trade.
Despite Randy Moss bein one of the best recievers in the league, when the vikings announced that they wer looking to get rid of him the offseason, not many wer interested. Finally, a decisn was made, Randy would be traded to the Oakland Raiders for a 1st round draft pick and LB, Napolean Harris. The trade outraged Moss, seeing how he had "never even heard of Napolean Harris". But the change was made, and he cudnt change that
Now the vikings wer ready for a fresh start, and let all the contraversy and media stay in ther past. But soon they'd realise that wasnt goin to happen. In mid, pre-season, one the vikings top RB's was suspended for the posession of a "Whizzinator". The vikings wer upset with the loss, but believed they wer good enough on offense without Onterio Smith
But then the season started, and the viking's highly rated defense was put to the test. With out a dominate offense to work with, the vikings's defense had play better then even expected. But with the struggle of Dante Culpepper, and the injuries on the O line, the vikings wer putting the D on the field way too much. And then ther was the boat. A team with low, to zero morale, lowered it with a stupid yaght party in minnisota, indulgin in many illegal activities. With the season that had happened so far, and disasters off field that had continued, the vikings had become the laughing stalk of the NFL
This wared out D and struggling offence ended in a 2-5 the worst start in years for the vikings. And in week 8 when Culpepper tore his ACL, PCL, and MCL, the vikings playoff fight looked to be destroyed.
But, on came the back up Brad Johnson, to revive the vikings from this disaster. Johnson, along wit Tice and other members of the vikings, started to get things together. The D started start feeling comfertable with each other and wer one of the top in the league, including Darren Sharper who leads the NFC with 9 INTs. The viks had seemed to change things around, Johnson had gone 6-0 as a starter, and the playoffs, not only seemed possible, but likely for this formally struggling team.
But the Pittsburgh Steelers, also fighting for a playoff birth, had something to say about it. They came to the Metrodome and beat the vikings, with 4 redzone attempts against, and only 3 points against in the 1st half. Ther defeat over the viks, forced Minnesota, to hav to win out to hav a chance at the playoffs, but they needed sum help
Week 16, Dec. 25/2005, the Green Bay Packers, faced the Chicago Bears. With a packers win, the vikings would hav ther playoffs hopes in ther hands, but the packers wer the underdogs in this game. Late in the game, Packs down 24-7, Antonio Chatman, returned a kick return for a touchdown, and brought life to this packers team, who struggled the rest of the game. Later the Packs would find themselves behind 7, with jus over a minute left in the game. Despite a huge first play (pass to Donald Driver for 59 yards) Favre was sacked twice in a row, and ended the chance for the comeback.
With the packers lost, this forced minni to win out, and they also needed a little help to keep ther hopes alive. But it seemed they looked to far ahead, gettin ready for the Chicago game in a week, the viks struggled in the second half, and let the ravens take the lead. Minnesota could never come back, and wer elimanated from playoff contention, despite the mid season comeback and chance to end ther season with a better record than last year.
Now the contreversy has returned to minnesota, with 2 huge contributers to this team, possibly lossing ther jobs.
Mike Tice is under the microscope, and hopes his calmness throught the struggling start, will keep him his job, and giv him a chance for next year to redeem himself for good. Dante Culpepper, is hopin to get back in the starting lineup next year, despite his weak knee, and his struggle in the early 2005 season. But he could compete against Johnson, if he decides to return.
Both members of the team hope to return to the vikings next year, despite the contraversy, and they both hope to show they can compeat with the rest of the league.
Now i know u guys prolly don care as much about this, as me, or even at all, but id like to know wut ya'll think is in store for next year? Will Dante and Mike return to the viks? should they? If not who should replace them?
neways it was a great season, despite the contraversy, and robber, amerikaz, dvs, t-dog, and the rest of u, get ready for next year, we'll be back, bigger and better baby
