Americans Distrust Atheists

Article

From a telephone sampling of more than 2,000 households, university researchers found that Americans rate atheists below Muslims, recent immigrants, gays and lesbians and other minority groups in “sharing their vision of American society.” Atheists are also the minority group most Americans are least willing to allow their children to marry.
Brilliant.

^^^doesn't seem like it, with all the hate and bullshit going on over here. i'm a very spiritual man with a strong relationship with God, but i have nothing against athiests. they can believe what they want, and they're still cool with me.

Hahahaha, Suckerz!

I do however disagree with the link which also went on to say that only 3% of the U.S population are Atheists, I think that number is much higher. atleast 10%

I think the number is so low because a lot of people just want to belong to some religion, not for spiritual reasons but more for the unity. They don't practice the religion but they still see themselves as Christian, Jewish etc...

Fun stuff. Atheists are scary.

The research discerns between people who don't believe in God/adhere to a religion and those who call themselves Atheists. Some people don't like to cal themselves Atheists, for whatever reason.

According to Adherents.com, 13% of the U.S. is "non-religious/secular".

I don't know what's funnier; people phoning others trying to get a crappy statistic such as this one, or you posting the article up, trying to create a discussion.

A telephone sampling of 2,000. Let's draw up some conclusions!!!!

You know, you don't have to jump in any post that might paint your faith in a bad light and say "THIS DOESN'T PROVE ANYTHING!"

It's not a huge sample, but the findings are still interesting. That anyone associates atheism with "an array of moral indiscretions ranging from criminal behavior to rampant materialism and cultural elitism" is worrying.

And this is why so many "religious" non-believers won't make the final leap and actually call themselves "atheists." They think it's some immoral position.

Most ppl haven't really confronted their beliefs and so just go along with their families' faith, while not being sure what's true. They think someone who calls themselves atheist had to have purposely broken with their religious values, i.e. their family's values. And they think this because not having confronted their own doubts about their beliefs, they don't know that logic will dictate atheism once they realize they can't justify their beliefs to themselves.

people just dont thinkin about god, look how manny people are catholics its impossible that all this people think about it in a deep way and come to the same conclusion plus people have to work and often money comes with evil so they tryn to get the religion thing out of their had.

P.S. just what i watch and think of it

See the problem in America is extreme religous people give all the credit to God. They see no reason to think, feel, smell, taste, discover anything because "It's the way God wants it." This is so pathetic to me is because these people completely ignore their own feelings, their own mind, to achieve what they think will be "Heaven". They walk through life blinded and not obsorbing what we have on earth. "If we all think alike, NO ONE thinks!"

Like we dont control what we do, FUCK Karma, there is no such thing. Every effect is a result of the cause.
