We never made a thread. Its at the quarter final stage now. Todays games finished:

Ghana 2 Nigeria 1
Ivory Coast 5 Guinea 0

Egypt play Angola and Tunisia play Cameroon.

Ivory Coast look very strong dont they.I think the 5-0 score line flattered them a bit but they have a lot of quality players in their squad.I think they will win it out but Ghana and Egypt are good teams as well.

I don't know. Every time the Africa cup comes along I get excited and watch the first few games. Then I'm reminded of the poor level of tactical play and I lose interest. I'll probably catch the final though.

African football:

Dribble 3 guys due to brute force.
run forward.

2 guys bump off you because you are built as a horse

sprint 50m in 4.5 seconds.

Take a shot

Due to the fact that you have the power of an elephant, the speed of a cheetah and the accuracy of Ray Charles, the ball ends up in the last row.

Perfect exemple: Djibril Cissé.

He's an african, but plays for France, so shut up.

^^ LMAO.

Kinda true, though. Africans have decent technique basically but their team play and tactical/strategical level is astoundingly low. Only the best African nations sometimes display all the qualities needed for a top side. But the fact that Egypt keeps winning the Cup all these years says enough I think.

Not to mention the way African footy associations handle (or usually don't handle) their business. And then you have most your players, who will show up tuesday 12:00 when you said there's a training monday @ 9.

Although the tactics or lack of are true, there was a recent African tournament when the teams were criticized for being too "European" and blamed the lack of goals due to tactics.

How can you criticise African football without even mentioning the awful goalkeeping?

Well Ivory Coast are an excellent side all around the pitch. They would beat alot of top European teams and should have beaten Holland at the World Cup. Ghana are a good team as well. Egypt have good players but are extremely temperamental.Look at all the quality players Ivory Coast and Ghana have.

Ivory Coasts keeper is a little erratic though. Speaking of African keepers though, Kameni is awesome :thumb: The rest suck..

Manucho for Player of the Tournament :D

The fucker raped the net...

He did all of the steps I wrote up there, but missed his shot and it ended top corner.

^^You are not serious.I thought that game was tomorrow night. I was full sure that Ivory Coast would win the thing out.Egypt have to qualify for the next world cup if they are this good.

Cameroon beat Ghana 1-0 which was a bit of a shock as well.

Why the fuck didn't he just kick it out of play. I don't understand how he could make such a mistake. I hardly play footy and I know that if I'm pretty much the last defender, and they're an attacker right on my ass. I kick it out of play.

I wanted Cameroon to win, by the way... lol
